d) Entrepreneurial achievements, innovation activities

  • Initiator for establishing the Croatian Institute of Kinesiology and Sport (2016) as a start-up company of the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split
  • Initiator for establishing and the first Head of the Institute of Kinesiology at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Split.
  • Founder of the Scientific-sports organization Citius-Altius-Fortius, Taekwondo club St-kwan, Roller skating club Split, Badminton club Split, Dance and Cheerleading club CAF-Spliters, Split Taekwondo federation, etc.
  • Owner of the trade (in establishment) for counselling, service research and sport, Einstein, which, among other activities, is developing and preparing to patent an innovative freestanding air dome for covering swimming pools and sports courts.
  • Vice-Dean for Business and Finances (2014-2018) responsible for the development of a system in which own resource revenues in relation to total KIFTS revenues reached 33.8%  
  • Team member in realization of the Project: Developing the entrepreneurial society in Western Balkans and Turkey – SEECEL (EU – IPA Multi-beneficiary programme), in which KIFTS was one of the only two institutions awarded the status of „Entrepreneurial faculty
  • Creator of the Regulation on the manager role, financial planning and covering the costs of realization of programmes with international potential, which has facilitated the activation of potential of the Faculty staff in developing new products in the area of kinesiology
  • Within the Project Export of knowledge in kinesiology and sport, led by the Applicant, the following products were created:
    • first Croatian online Undergraduate Professional Study of Kinesiology
    • first international joint study at the University of Split in cooperation with the Sports University Kaunas from Lithuania, which enrolled its first generation in 2017/18 and in that first year included students from 9 countries and 3 continents
    • international undergraduate study of kinesiology – table tennis coaches, in cooperation with the international (ITTF) and European (ETU) table tennis federation, attended by students from 16 countries and 5 continents
    • international postgraduate doctoral study of kinesiology KIFST, at which more than 50% of students enrolled in the academic year 2017/18 were foreigners
  • Autor of several verified adult education programmes training experts to work in sport

e) Research prizes awarded

  • Science Award for 2018 to the most productive scientists at the University of Split in the area of social sciences
  • Nomination by the KIFST Faculty Council for the national Annual Award for Popularization and Promotion of Science in 2015, 2017, and 2018
  • Recognition from the Split-Dalmatia County and University of Split for personal contribution to designing the Development Strategy of the Urban Agglomeration Split, 2017
  • Acknowledged by the European Budo Council for his contribution in education and development of combat sports

f) Other evidence on impact and contribution

  • Initiator of:
    • Laboratory for applied physiology, talent development, sports systems and research on the effect of physical exercise on health. (Head of the laboratory since January 2018)
    • Laboratory for kicking combat sports financed within an installation research project (No. 6524) of the Croatian Science Foundation (Head of the Laboratory from June 2014 to January 2018)
  • since 2019 a member of the National Sports Council, appointed by the Croatian Parliament
  • Holder of the course Methodology of scientific research in kinesiological recreation and fitness at the Postgraduate Doctoral Study of Kinesiology KIFST
  • since 2017 a member of the working group for drafting a National Sports Programme, for the Central State Office for Sport of the Government of the Republic of Croatia
